WINCANTON

Milton Harris’ promising young filly Rosy Redrum lines up in the 2:05pm Mares’ Maiden Hurdle run over 1m7f at Wincanton.

She won on debut at the track in January before finishing second in a Listed event to Top Dog, a horse that had prior form behind Gary Moore’s Authorised Speed who was seen winning his hurdling debut in fine fashion by fifteen-lengths at Lingfield on Tuesday.

Rosy Redrum was pulled out of the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and instead lined up at Aintree sporting a hood. She could only manage a disappointing ninth behind her older rivals when sent off at odds of 4/1.

This is her first appearance since being narrowly beaten by Kiss My Lucky Egg at Newton Abbott in May. She struggled to find a clear passage in the final stages and just failed to peg back the eventual winner.

The four-year-old filly has gone well first time out in the past, and her debut win came at this track over the trip following wind surgery last year. If she is able to jump fluently she has an excellent chance of claiming the victory, as the four-year-old appears to have a touch of class about her.

The yard has been in good form of late, with many of Harris’ horses outrunning their odds. Connections gained Grade Two success with Scriptwriter at Cheltenham on Saturday, and will be hoping this filly can put in a similar performance to her stablemate.

In the 3:15pm 2m4f handicap over hurdles, top-weight Rock The House is one to watch for trainer Katy Price. He is 2lbs lower than his last winning mark and has a 3lbs claimer onboard once again, with Charlie Price taking the ride.

The seven-year-old gelding is usually held up in his races, attempting to stay on late and mount a challenge. He is perhaps suited to further, but an ease in the ground could improve his chances and there are showers forecast at the Somerset track.

Rock The House was last seen winning just over a year ago when he gained success in a Class 4 contest at Wetherby. He had been disappointing for Olly Murphy since, but has shown signs of a revival since making the switch to a new yard.

With some progressive types in the field likely to be dangerous, Rock The House is advised from an each-way angle, capable of running on late and making the frame, but unreliable due to his lack of winning form.

However, it would be no surprise to see him staying on well at the finish to pass rivals, and there could be a win to come from him soon if everything falls into place.
